LEGENDARY CONTENDERS

MATT CASSEL, QB - New England Patriots (400 Passing Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 103.4 Passer Rating, 62 Rushing Yards)
Card to Grab - 2005 Playoff Contenders #190 AU

Matt Cassel had his best day as a pro, throwing for 400 yards and three touchdowns in the 34-31 loss to the rival Jets. Cassel distributed the ball to six different receivers in the near-perfect performance, adding a team-high 62 yards rushing in the losing effort. The former USC Trojan has settled into his new role with the Patriots, guiding them to 6-4, one game out of first place in the AFC East.

ANQUAN BOLDIN/LARRY FITZGERALD, WR - Arizona Cardinals (23 Catches for 337 Receiving Yards)
Card to Grab - 2003 Playoff Contenders #146 Anquan Boldin AU/524
Card to Grab - 2004 Playoff Contenders #146 Larry Fitzgerald AU/50

If the season ended now, Kurt Warner would be the front runner for league MVP. Wide receivers Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald were the beneficiaries of another 300 yard passing day by the Cardinals quarterback Sunday, combining for more than 300 yards receiving. The pair finished one-two this week in receiving for the entire NFL, with Boldin at the top with 186 yards. The combination of Warner-Boldin-Fitzgerald has the Cardinals in first place in the NFC West and surprisingly tied for third in the entire NFC.

ROOKIE ROLL CALL

- Texans' rookie running back, Steve Slaton, led the entire NFL in rushing this week with 156 yards. The record day for Slaton included a 71 yard touchdown run as Houston fell short to the Colts, 33-27

- The Panthers' running game is humming behind DeAngelo Williams and rookie Jonathan Stewart. The pair combined for 250 yards rushing, with Stewart responsible for 130 of those yards and a touchdown.

- With the game on the line, Buffalo's first-round draft pick, Leodis McKelvin, stepped up and returned a kick 98-yards for a touchdown, but the Bills lost on Monday Night Football to the Browns, 29-27.

ONES TO WATCH

BROCK LESNER, DE - Minnesota Vikings (UFC® Heavyweight Champion)
Card to Grab - 2004 Leaf Rookies & Stars #155

The former WWE champion shocked the world Saturday night when he beat arguably the greatest Mixed Martial Artist in history, Randy Couture, to capture the UFC® Heavyweight title. Before entering the Octagon, the former Minnesota Golden Gopher tried the NFL, getting cut by the Vikings right after preseason, but not before Donruss produced the ONLY rookie card of the former defensive end. This card has enjoyed up arrows over the past few months as speculators snatched up copies in anticipation of a title shot. With incredible size and strength, Lesner could go on a nice run and this card could go through the roof!
