The Awards Keep Coming for Donruss

Officials at Diamond Comic Distributors recently announced the 2007 Annual Gem Awards and Donruss' Playoff Contenders was named Sports Card Product of the Year.

"Donruss continues to delivery quality products to the Comic Book Specialty Market and our retailers were truly impressed by Playoff Contenders," said Vice President of Purchasing, Bill Schanes. "It was a winner, hands down!"

The Annual Gem Awards are Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc annual recognition of outstanding suppliers and vendors. Companies are nominated by a panel of Diamond product specialists on the basis of their overall impact on the industry, while comics and related merchandise are chosen on the merits of their quality, creativity and sales performance. The winners each year are voted on by comic book specialty retailers and announced in April each year.

"Winning this award shows our versatility as a company to produce sports card products that perform in difference aspects of our industry," said Donruss Vice President Mike Anderson. "We continue to put value and content into ALL our products and having two different products named Product of the Year is truly an honor."

Anderson was referring to the announcement made by Beckett media that Donruss' Playoff National Treasures was voted by both collectors and Beckett employees as Product of the Year.

Playoff Contenders debuted in 1993 and since 1998, has been the "Home of the Autographed Rookie Card." Its release changed an industry and every year, Contenders is one of the most anticipated NFL releases of the year.
