EEE Redemption Changes - UPDATED
April 02, 2008

Just days after announcing their redemption strategy for outstanding Elite Extra Edition redemptions, Donruss announces that Cleveland Indians slugging prospect Beau Mills will, indeed, have EEE autographs.

The deal was struck after the announcement of redemption changes was made late last week, and caps several months of back-and-forth communication between Mills' representatives and Donruss. "This is great news, as we really wanted Beau in the set," Donruss Brand Manager Ben Ecklar said. "It was worth the wait to get him. He's a big-time prospect."

Collectors holding a redemption card for Mills will be able to redeem it for a Mills autograph. Last week's announcement indicated the Mills redemptions would be fulfilled with Corey Brown autographs, but the Brown signatures will now be used in other ways.

"We're not looking to confuse anyone, we're just looking to get Beau Mills in EEE," said Donruss Marketing Manager Scott Prusha. "That's what we've wanted since Day One. We're still going to disperse the Corey Brown cards, but in a different manner."

Corey Brown Collegiate Patches are already replacing the Collegiate Patches of Darwin Barney, but Prusha said regular Brown signature cards would now replace the autographs of legendary coach Norm Stewart, who did not return his autographs. The remainder of the Brown autographs, according to Prusha, will be sent as an additional autograph to those collectors receiving a one-autograph Collegiate Ties card stamped with a "No Autograph" for the player who did not sign.

"We hated that we had to stamp a few of those Collegiate Ties as 'No Autograph' on the cards, but there was just no other option," Prusha said. "Hopefully, the additional Corey Brown signature will at least let collectors know that we appreciate their support, appreciate their understanding and just appreciate them hanging in there with us.

"Bottom line in all this," Prusha added, "was that we got Beau Mills into EEE and were able to add some other outstanding baseball prospects as redemption replacements."
