Amongst much speculation, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has finally decided its time to ride off into the sunset. Favre retires from the NFL after 17 seasons and over 275 consecutive starts (counting playoffs).
Acquired from the Atlanta Falcons in 1992, Favre lead the Packers to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 1996 & 1997. He helped the team win it all in his first try, Super Bowl Champions in 1996. Favre passed Dan Marino and now ranks first in NFL history in touchdown passes (442) and passing yards (61,655). The guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer is the NFL's only three time MVP (1995, 1996, 1997). He was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and seven-time NFL All-Pro. After his remarkable final season, Favre was named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year in 2007.
