Last Thursday night, officials at Donruss Playoff hit Beverly Hills with Steve Smith for the annual hobby shop appearance as part of the 2007 NFL Rookie Premier. The fellas at Donruss didn't stop to shop in the high-end district, but they did provide photo's for collectors to get free autographs from Steve at Matt Federgreen's store, Beverly Hills Card Shop.
The NFL Network was also present to film part of the kick-off party for an up-coming Rookie Premier TV program.
"The Rookie Premier is a trading card event, so it's great we can incorporate a few of the local hobby shops to help promote the industry and get new collectors into a card shop," said Donruss Playoff Marketing Director Scott Prusha. "This is the sixth year we have been working with Player's Inc and the store owners to make this event special for the industry."
Donruss officials were on-hand again this year with packs, boxes and plenty of pack-war prizes for all.
Mitch Guttenberg, owner of The Bullpen in LA, hosted the other Thursday night hobby event. Hundreds of collectors lined up for a shot to get autographs from Cincinnati Bengal RB, Kenny Irons.
